When it was a Boeing 727, N727RL was the 11th Boeing 727-25 built with serial number 18253.
When new in 1963 it was the second B-727 acquired by Eastern Airlines and flew with the registration number of N8102N. [Photo]
Later it was operated by the Republic of Liberia with registration EL-GOL with the colors of the Liberian flag (as above).
In 1987 it was returned to Regional Leasing and became N727RL.
This is a photo of it at Dallas Love Field in July, 1988.
It came to rest for disassembly at the Laurinburg-Maxton, NC airport (KMEB) and in 2006 was deregistered. [Photo]
We acquired the special N-number to be the sibling to N727RH. The "RL" is for "Rick-Linda".
